Clean means healthy: True or False?

There is a Russian proverb translated as "clean means healthy” or "cleanliness is next to godliness” However, nowadays it’s not the case and clean doesn’t always mean healthy.

Since energetic crisis 1973 the problems of ecology and non-renewable energy resources have been getting more and more urgent. Tons of articles and scientific publications have been devoted to environmental degradation in the context of the increasing economic production.

Driving a car is the most air polluting act an average citizen commits. Air pollution is not a good idea for a variety of reasons, large and small. The right ideas for remediation of environmental degradations involve unselfish and compassionate behavior, a scarce commodity. The right ideas involve long-term planning, conservation and a deep commitment to preserving the natural world. Without a healthy natural environment, there will be few or no healthy humans.

I think there is no need to reiterate all the problems we have with air pollution, garbage recycling and other environmental issues nowadays. This is obvious that all of them are caused by human beings, i.e. by us - you and me. So when I decided to write an article my purpose was to find some easy solutions for everyday life that could help reduce harmful impact of our activities on environment.  This is what I came out with.

Air pollution is the introduction of chemicals, particulate matter, or biological materials that cause harm or discomfort to humans or other living organisms, or cause damage to the natural environment or built environment, into the atmosphere. Generally any substance that people introduce into the atmosphere that has damaging effects on living things and the environment is considered air pollution. Air pollution also contributes to global warming.

This year I’ve had a chance to go on a business trip to Irkutsk. I was met and accommodated in a hotel and then was taken to see Lake Baikal. This sea-lake impressed me by its greatness, furious energy, but the most impressive thing was waiting for me in the museum. I got to know seals. Two fascinating creatures were swimming in the transparent aquarium...

Our everyday life consists of different activities. We study, work, do sport, meet with friends, do housework etc. To do it we need lots of energy. The main resource for active lifestyle is food. Food provides us with proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins. But the reality is  much more complicated.
