The romantic comedy "Four weddings and a funeral” was written by famous English scenarist, producer and actor Richard Curtis, who is also known for his comedies "Bridget Jones’s Diary” and "Notting Hill”. The story takes place in present-day England. We see an ordinary middle-aged man Charles, who wants, like everybody, to find big love and to make a family. And one fine day Charles is invited to the wedding of his friend and meets a pretty woman Carrie there. They spend night together and don’t see each other until the wedding day of a friend of theirs. But now Carrie comes with her groom – an elderly man.
The next wedding is a wedding of Carrie and this man. Charles is upset but he can’t disturb her happiness. Charles thinks about his life and makes an important decision – to get married. And the fourth wedding is his. But it isn’t destined to happen. On the wedding day Charles meets Carrie and learns that she is divorced.
The book is funny (in spite of a sad episode with Charles friend’s funeral) and easy to read. I recommend it to everyone who has a good sense of humor.
